Correct installation of brake discs and brake pads
To prevent problems, replacement of brake discs/pads by trained professionals should only be allowed.
In the replacement process, the following matters should be observed in principle:
Brake disc
Only the entire shaft is allowed to be replaced, paying attention to the direction of rotation if necessary.
Correctly center and fix with the specified torque in the specified order.
IMPORTANT: Check the face side pendulum.
Replace the brake discs with new Otto Zimmermann brake linings or other approved brake linings (ECE R90 approved).
Hub
The contact surface must be smooth (no rust or dirt).
Do not apply grease, etc.
There must be no damage to the contact surfaces and the center hole.
The contact surface must be flat (hub impact will cause the end face to swing!).
Brake lining
Use Otto Zimmermann brake linings or other approved brake linings.
Please select the brake lining that matches the vehicle model/year of manufacture.
Use the brake as correctly as possible to avoid sudden braking.
Brake caliper
Check protective cover for damage and replace if necessary.
Check pistons and guide elements for damage and functional defects and replace if necessary.
Ensure the flexibility of the new brake lining in the brake caliper slot.
Wheel suspension
The transverse guide arm and stabiliser rubber bushings must not be worn and must be replaced if necessary.
Check shock absorber and replace if necessary.
Check front axle settings according to manufacturer's specifications and calibrate if necessary.
Wheel bearing
Check the gap, calibrate or fix as required.
Steering components
Check the steering play and calibrate if necessary.
Check tie rods and steering dampers for damage and functional defects and replace if necessary.
Wheels/Tires
Check for imbalance and adjust balance if necessary.
Check the tire radial jump or end side swing, rim radial jump and rim end jump, and make sure that it meets the requirements.
